This itinerary has been designed by us to give you the ultimate Delta and Desert experience, showing off the amazing contrasting landscapes and wildlife Botswana has on offer. If you want to experience sleeping with nothing more than a canvas wall separating you from the pristine wilderness of Botswana and some of Africa’s best game-viewing, then this is a great option.

All our mobile tents are nothing short of very spacious and comfortable with their own individual eco toilet facility. The mobile option is also the best way to really immerse yourself into the wildest areas.

Trip Summary

Luxury lodge accommodation

Start LUSAKA end SOUTH LUANGWA NATIONAL PARK
Best time to visit: July – November

Day 1-2

Arrive at Lusaka airport
Travel North 6 hours to Kasanka National Park
Arrive at lodge situated on the edge of Lake Wasa
Activities include; game drives, walks, game viewing from towering hides, boat trips, and fishing

Day 3-4

Leave Kasanka and drive 5 hours to Bangweulu Swamps via Livingstone Memorial
Arrive at Island Camp – safari tents under thatched roofs
Activities include; game drives, mokoro trips, Shoebill adventure, guided walks and fantastic bird watching

Day 5-7

Drive 4 hours through Lavushimanda National Park and arrive at Shiwa House (The Africa House)
Luxury accommodation at Shiwa House – a historic house turned into country style accommodation, with its mix of English stately home and Tuscan villa
Activities include game viewing, boating on the lake, fishing, horse riding, superb bird watching, river walks, historical drives and walks, meeting the people of the estate, visiting the schools and hospitals and ongoing projects.
Kapishya Hot Springs are a short drive away

Day 8-10

Leave Shiwa and a short drive to North Luangwa National Park
Luxury bush camp situated on the banks of Mwaleshi River
Activities include game drives and guided walking safaris

Day 11-14

Drive through villages to South Luangwa National Park
Luxury tented camp on the west bank of Luangwa
Activities include game drives and guided walking safaris
Transfer back to Lusaka for onward travel
We can organise an add on of Victoria Falls and Livingstone to your trip if required
